Saudi Arabia to build new airport in Jazan

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has announced plans to build a modern, state-of-the-art airport in the Red Sea coastal city of Jazan, Arab News has reported. To be named after King Abdullah, the new airport is to be built on an area of 52,000 sq m and have the capacity to handle up to 2.4 million passengers a year. The planned airport will have a three-story passenger terminal with 10 gates and a VIP lounge, a control tower, air cargo zones and other facilities.
