  • Saudi Arabia: Wednesday, May 01 - 2013 at 05:27

Saudi Arabia has agreed with the Indian government to form a joint working group to address "all immediate problems" facing the Indian community including issues related to the kingdom's new labour policy, PTI has reported. "The issues include implementation of Nitaqat programme and also regularising the status of overstaying workers and their return to India," said the minister of overseas Indian affairs, Vayalar Ravi. The Nitaqat law makes it mandatory for local companies to hire one Saudi national for every 10 migrant workers.
