Saudi Arabia to launch health tracking system

Saudi Arabia has launched a five-year collaboration programme with the US-based Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) to create an integrated tracking system to monitor the health status of Saudi citizens, Arab News has reported. The initiative aims to map out future health plans and policy priorities, said the minister of health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah. "The kingdom is the first country in the Arab world and the Greater Middle East region to launch an integrated health surveillance system," the minister said.
