Saudi Arabia reviews global suppliers list over horsemeat scandal
- Saudi Arabia: Sunday, February 17 - 2013 at 04:59
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is set to remove a number of global meat companies from the kingdom's list of suppliers in the wake of a horse meat scandal in Europe, Arab News has reported. The country imports meat from a limited number of states and international companies, which makes it easier to address the issue, said an SFDA official. "The authority is currently testing samples of meat products imported from Europe," the official said. "A report will be issued soon to brief citizens on details of the case," he said.
