Saudi Aramco to set up traffic safety chair at Dammam University

University of Dammam has signed an agreement with Saudi Aramco to establish the Saudi Aramco Chair for Traffic Safety at the university, Arab News has reported. The chair would support academic programmes and scientific research in the field of traffic safety, provide for the use of modern technology in the development of traffic systems and support implementation of programmes to raise community awareness of the importance of traffic safety. It will also expedite implementation of training programmes and specialised seminars on traffic safety, and it will provide for world-class development programs in the fields of highway safety engineering, driver behaviour, injury reduction and first aid programmes on the roads.
