Saudi cabinet awards SR16bn contracts to enhance water and power supply

The Saudi water and electricity ministry has awarded three contracts worth SR16bn to boost water and electricity supply to Madinah and Yanbu and its surrounding villages, Arab News has reported. The first contract covers third phase of Yanbu desalination plant, while the second deal is for a desalination and electricity power generation project that will cost SR11.23bn. The third contract, which will cost SR3.82bn, is for an electricity project to support the Yanbu desalination plant at a total cost of SR716m.
