The Health Department in Jeddah has ordered several private clinics and medical centres in the city shut down for violation of norms, Arab News has reported. An inspection committee found some clinics employing unlicensed doctors, technicians and workers, while some clinics failed to safely dispose of medical waste or do not possess sterilising equipment. The committee also found that some labs in private clinics conduct laboratory tests that should only be conducted by specialised control authorities.
