Saudi fines 94 Haj housing facilities for violations

The Civil Defence department in Makkah has fined 97 Haj accommodation facilities for violating safety requirements and cut off their power supply until they have resolved their shortcomings, Saudi Gazette has reported. "Some facilities had fire alarms that did not work properly because they had not been maintained while other facilities did not have accommodation licences," said director of Makkah Civil Defence, Col. Khalaf Al-Matrafi. "Additionally, some of their emergency exits were blocked," he said.
