Saudi to install cameras on highways

Saudi Arabia's Highway Patrol Dept. has announced cameras linked to a central database have been installed at highway patrol centres, Saudi Gazette has reported. The cameras will read the license plate of any car that it records and send full information of the vehicle and its driver to security officers, the department said. Some of the cameras have already been installed in different centres in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
