Saudi Kayan says Q3 loss surges 407.3%

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co (Saudi Kayan) has reported a 407.3% year-on-year net loss in the third-quarter, QNA has reported. The company saw its quarterly loss climb to %47.5m from a loss of $9.36m in third quarter of 2011. However, the loss dropped 45.7% compared with the $87.43m loss recorded in this year's second quarter. The decline in quarter-on-quarter loss was attributed to the increase in output volume resulting from better operational efficiencies. Moreover, the commencement of commercial operations of Kayan's Amine project last August also contributed to the addition of more products to its portfolio.
