Saudi students prefer US universities

The Saudi higher education ministry has revealed that most of the students selected for the King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship Programme preferred to go the US to pursue their higher studies, while the least number of students chose Holland, Arab News has reported. Currently, there are 69,235 Saudi students studying in the US and only 326 students chose Holland as the destination to complete their higher studies, out of a total of 149,742 students who have been awarded foreign scholarships. Saudi students enrolled in other universities around the world include 16,364 in various Arab universities, and 14,459 in the UK. Scholarship students attending universities in Canada and Australia stand at 13,801 and 8,789, respectively, the ministry said.
