Saudi students reassured at London Metropolitan University
- Saudi Arabia: Tuesday, September 11 - 2012 at 11:36
The British Council has assured Saudi students at London Metropolitan University that their interests would be fully protected, Arab News has reported. Nearly 200 Saudi students are among those who have been affected by the UK Border Agency's (UKBA) decision to revoke the university's "Tier 4" visa licence. A taskforce set up by the British government said all legitimate undergraduate students will be offered a place at a comparable university, "if at all possible in London." "Additionally, solutions are being put in place for post-graduate students, and it has been agreed that master's degree students who have just submitted or are about to submit their dissertations will be unaffected and their degrees will be unaffected," said Adrian Chadwick, director of the British Council in Saudi Arabia.
