Saudi summer tourism festivals earn SR10.8bn

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has said tourism festivals and events held in the summer of 2012 across the kingdom earned revenues exceeding SR10.8bn, Arab News has reported. The events were attended by more than 10.6 million visitors including 4.2 million tourists. "The majority of visitors to these festivals were families, but there was an increasing number of visitors who were either singles or coming with friends, as was the case with visitors to Al-Jouf Hulwah, Tebah Summer and Hail Summer, in addition to the Dammam and Jeddah Summer Festivals," the SCTA report said.
