Saudi Water and Power Forum to be held 2 - 4 December 2012

The Saudi Water and Power Forum will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on the 2nd of December for 3 days under the patronage of HRH Prince of Makkah Khalid Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz.

High profile officials attending the event include Water and Electricity Minister Engineer Abdullah Al-Hussayen and vice president of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) Dr Khalid Al Sulaiman and Electricity and Co-generation Regulatory Authority Governor Dr Abdullah Al Shehri.

Also attending are Thamer Al Sharhan CEO of Marafiq Company and Paddy Padmanathan, President & CEO, ACWA Power.

The Saudi Water and Power Forum is widely regarded as one of the most important Forums in the region and globally. The Forum aims to cultivate knowledge, share expertise and develop business partnerships and represent a unique opportunity for local, regional and global companies to invest in the multi-billion dollar Saudi water and power market.

The Forum and Exhibition is endorsed by the Ministry of Water and Electricity and is organized by CWC, a global leader in high-profile event organization and management, in cooperation with. Moya Bushnak, Water & Environmental Services Company.

This strategic Forum will include various sessions by power and water experts from several countries and an International Exhibition. The Forum incorporates Pre-Forum sessions and Site Visit hosted by KAUST, IDA Desalination Academy Courses, an extensive networking program, exhibition tour as well as the opening ceremony, lead by Saudi officials.

Today, Saudi Arabia is considered a strategic destination for investments by the biggest players in the power and water sectors. It is worth noting that power and water projects in the Kingdom are worth more than SR100bn. The aim of the Forum is to add value to the industry by creating opportunities, building relationships and fostering innovation.

Forum sessions will focus on challenges, opportunities and ways to maximize benefits through creativity and cooperation to support a knowledge-based economy. The event will also showcase the latest technologies in water and renewable energy and this year it will be the largest ever due to strong participation from both local and international companies. The Forum will also present the SWPF Award for Innovation and the Marafiq Award for Sustainability to best-in-class companies.
