SCAD's publications on display at Masdar's World Future Energy Summit

Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) is participating in the exhibition accompanying the 6th Session of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), organized by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy 'Masdar'.
SCAD's participation in this year's edition of the exhibition comes as the Centre marks "Statistics 2013" the International Year of Statistics with a number of local and international initiatives.
SCAD is keen to apprise the emirate's guest with information on Abu Dhabi's successes in areas of relevance to the summit's themes, such as the rationalizing energy consumption and realizing sustainable development through reliance on renewable and alternative energy source and the favourable impact of this on the health and safety standards provided to the emirate's residents in furtherance of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
The exhibits displayed at SCAD's stand were held in high regard by all participants, who hailed the Centre's statistical publications, especially those related to energy and the environment, including SCAD's Annual Bulletins of Environmental and Energy Statistics, Climate and Air Statistics, Agricultural Statistics and Environmental Statistics.
SCAD reiterated its commitment to serve all development sectors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including the energy and environment sectors, the core theme of the exhibition. In this regard, SCAD's Environment and Energy Statistics bulletin, distributed at the Centre's stand in the exhibition, presents a wide range of statistics on the activities of water and electricity and oil and natural gas in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, along with the latest statistics on air polluting emissions such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds and carbon dioxide, in addition to occupational health and safety statistics in both activities.
During the exhibition, SCAD also distributed a compendium of the Centre's publications on CD's to the visitors.
SCAD's stand at the Masdar was visited by a number of their highnesses the Sheikhs, ministers, directors of government agencies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, executives from major international companies operating in the energy and environment sectors, representatives from a number of media representatives, offering the Centre with an opportunity to forge stronger ties with its strategic partners and build new relations with the participants and visitors of the exhibition, hoping that this would help to broaden the range of the data supplied to the Centre, to better serve data users and maximize the usefulness of its outputs, in line with the Centre's initiative for raising statistical awareness through promoting statistical culture and highlighting the importance of statistics statistical data for development strategies in all sectors.
SCAD has taken part in the exhibition accompanying the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) since its session in 2008. The WFES has evolved as the world's foremost platform in the areas of renewable energy and environment industry, bringing together world leaders, international policy makers, industry leaders, investors, experts, academia, intellectuals and journalists to find practical and sustainable solutions for today's energy security and climate change challenges. This has made Abu Dhabi a world class center for events centering on renewable energy, reflecting the emirate's efforts towards obtaining concrete results that would contribute towards meeting the challenges confronted by today's world in the development of renewable energy.
