SEC awards ABB $115m contract

Saudi Electricity Co (SEC) has awarded ABB an order worth around $115m to improve the reliability of the transmission grid that feeds major Saudi railway interconnections, Saudi Gazette has reported. The contract is the biggest the firm had received to date for its flexible alternating current transmission system (FACTS), ABB said. "This solution will help strengthen the transmission grid and enhance reliability of power supply to important rail links being developed in Saudi Arabia," it said.
