  • PRESS RELEASE

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) is launching an awareness campaign for breast cancer that encourages employees, spouses and friends to get screened for breast cancer.

The campaign saw large turnout as ladies assembled at the examination space and listened to a simple explanation of the campaign and its goals, and the importance of monitoring and periodic examinations to ensure safety from the disease. Some participants in the campaign had already combatted the disease and they played a role in educating others.

Salama Rashed Al Mazrooei, Corporate Marketing Communication Manager, SEHA said, "Prevention and detection remains the best way of tackling breast cancer. SEHA's campaign focuses on educating employees and their families and friends on the importance of early detection as opposed to waiting until the disease reaches advanced stages to begin treatment.

She added that SEHA's health campaign aims to promote awareness on medical imaging for early detection, and the challenges posed by breast cancer - a leading cause of death among women in the UAE.

SEHA's healthcare facilities are also joining in the campaign to spread awareness and provide knowledge in maintaining health to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. The campaigns are offering information about medical imaging and breast cancer preventive measures, cervical cancer and other health conditions that concern women, and general advice on the best ways to maintain health.
