Sema Show coming to Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, January 23 - 2013 at 09:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Close on the heels of the world's largest auto racing organization, the National Hot Rod Association of the US, showing interest in the Middle East market, another international giant has announced its regional entry through a premier trade event.
It brings together more than 2,400 exhibitors and attracts close to 120,000 tuners, car customizers and those from the realm of motorsports to showcase some of the most admired aftermarket parts and modified vehicles in the world.
It is organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association and is presented in four main attractions — hot rod and muscle car tuning, modified modern car, rims and innovative technology and is known in industry parlance as a must-see for anyone interested in car modification.
"Reflecting the growing potential of the region in car tuning and customization, the SEMA Show will be testing regional waters by participating in the upcoming Middle East Motor Tuning Show 2013. Getting SEMA on board is a big honour as well as recognition for Expo Centre Sharjah and Middle East Motor Tuning Show in representing and promoting the customization industry in the region," said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General, Expo Centre Sharjah.
The special SEMA pavilion, named SEMA Middle East, will be held alongside the Middle East Motor Tuning Show from March 14 to 16, 2013, and will feature more than 60 companies representing leading American brands that are looking to introduce their products and explore partnerships in the region.
"This is a first for the region, when such a big team of key players from the world's biggest automotive aftermarket industry is visiting the region in an attempt to seek local partners. This is proof of the potential of the Middle East market. We are also delighted that SEMA has chosen to partner with MEMTS to enter the region," said Mr. Roman Gavrilin, Show Manager of the Middle East Motor Tuning Show.
The SEMA decision to participate in MEMTS follows the meetings held between a UAE team and Chris Kersting, CEO of SEMA, recently.
The UAE team, led by leading market players Top Speed Performance and the Middle East Motor Tuning Show, also took part in the Middle East Conference organised by the SEMA Association, where the advantages and challenges American automotive customization and aftermarket manufacturers and service providers could face in the Middle East were highlighted.
The upcoming Middle East Motor Tuning Show will also be a significant step towards developing the aftermarket industry in the region.
Apart from providing high-value business opportunities for visitors from across the region, MEMTS will also host the first ever Motorsport conference to underscore the strong fundamentals of the lucrative customization sector and let regional players gain international experience and expertise.
