Server revenue down 11.6% in EMEA

IDC has said that factory revenue in the EMEA server market fell 11.6% year-on-year to $3bn in the second quarter of 2012. Shipments reached 514,311 units, representing a 5.3% annual decline. The x86 server segment remained the main growth engine, with revenue of $2.2bn, equivalent to 72.2% of the total value market, a slightly lower percentage than the 73.0% recorded the previous quarter, said IDC. Non-x86 sales dived well below the $1bn mark, and with revenue of $860.3m were down 27.5% year-on-year, the market research firm said.
