- PRESS RELEASE
In 2012, the UAE-based brand Shakespeare and Co. gained international recognition as it opened franchise locations in Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and even as far as North America.
Not only has the concept grown in size, but the offering has matured and been refined over the years. The diverse demand of the international population in the UAE has cultivated a menu that suits a multitude of tastes. "Shakespeare and Co. aims to be a second home, a refined, yet comfortable place, where anyone feels welcome, anytime of day," said Suzanne Blake, Director of Sales and Marketing. "The brand is neatly situated in a niche that is not aspiring to be fine dining, but still offers clients a more sophisticated option than fast-food."
The French-style patisserie and exquisitely wrapped chocolates further distinguish the brand. The UAE produced chocolates are now becoming popular worldwide, as they are sold and distributed through the franchise locations. "The UAE expansion plans in 2013 include not only the opening of multiple cafes, but also an expansion of the company's chocolate-producing facility in order to handle the increasing demand," said Gaetan Herve, General Manager.
The management's plans are not limited to the UAE, as a location is currently underway in Amman, Jordan with a targeted opening in summer 2013. Using the franchising model, the management is actively entertaining franchise offers specifically in the MENA region, and Europe. "The time has come to capitalize on the dedicated efforts of creating a successful café-restaurant model that breaks a monotonous mold and truly stands out amidst the increasing competition. Supported by a strong management team, we believe this brand's success is capable of translating to multiple international markets," continued Ms. Blake. The management team will be announcing new locations in the latter part of 2013, as the Dubai brand marches forward.
