Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri appoints new executive chef

Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi recently announced the appoitnment of Paul Doyle as the new executive chef. Chef Doyle moved to Abu Dhabi from his previous location in Auckland, where he held a similar post overseeing 21 food and beverage outlets and managing outside catering kitchens with a team of 20 chefs.

In his new position, Chef Doyle oversees the operations of five restaurants and the daily kitchen operations of Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi as well as the culinary operations of Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi.

Born in Ireland, Chef Doyle started his culinary career in London, taken under the wings of celebrity chef and restaurateur Marco Pierre White. Chef Doyle is no stranger to the Shangri-La family, having worked at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney where he held the position of executive chef following a period as executive sous chef.

His 16-year culinary experience spans several five-star properties and fine dining restaurants around the world, including those in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand and the Maldives.

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently owns and/or manages 78 hotels under the Shangri-La, Kerry and Traders brands with a room inventory of over 32,000. Shangri-La hotels are five-star deluxe properties featuring extensive luxury facilities and services.

Shangri-La hotels are located in Australia, Canada, mainland China, Fiji, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Maldives, the Philippines, Singapore, the Sultanate of Oman, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. The group has a substantial development pipeline with upcoming projects in mainland China, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
