Sharjah to convert taxis to run on CNG

The Sharjah Transport Corp (STC) has said work has started to convert all taxis in the emirate to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Gulf Today has reported. "The project will be done within two phases, starting with 1,600 vehicles belonging to Sharjah Taxi, and converting 800 cars per year starting this year," said the director general of STC, Abdullah Al Zari. Phase One will be completed by 2015, while Phase Two will see the STC convert 3,400 cars, said Al Zari.
