The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is participating in the Kuwait International Book Fair 2012, which is taking place at Mishref Expo from 21 November till 1 December 2012.

The SIBF delegation, composed of Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, SIBF Director, and Fadhel Hussain, SIBF Deputy Coordinator General, is conducting a series of meetings with new publishers from various countries from all over the world to invite them to participate in the 2013 Sharjah International Book Fair.

In addition, they are also meeting with literary figures, authors, artists and intellectuals to exchange views on issues that concern authorship and the book industry.

The delegation aims to highlight the vast experience of Sharjah International Book Fair and the resounding success of its 31st edition, which was recently held in Sharjah, as well as to promote the publications of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information.

Speaking on the occasion, SIBF Director Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, said, "The Sharjah International Book Fair has become a highly reputed event garnering praise and admiration in the Gulf, the greater Arab region and across the globe. We are extremely pleased to share the experience of our success with others in line with the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with regard to the need to overcome obstacles facing the book industry and make books accessible to all."

Al Ameri added, "The SIBF's participation in the Kuwait Book Fair is in line with our on-going goal to enhance our presence at all regional and international book events. The Kuwait Book Fair is one of oldest book fairs in the region and a major event on the Middle Eastern publishing industry calendar, offering an excellent platform for publishers and authors to network and exchange ideas about the current status of the book and publishing industry."
