The Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) has released a Russian version of its museums guide. The guide gives an overview of all of SMD's Museums, and includes brief information about each museum, its location and visiting hours.
Taking place from 20-23 March in the Russian capital, MITT 2013 is set to attract large-scale participation and will see the attendance of travel and tourism companies from across the world.
SMD's participation will form part of a large and high-profile delegation representing Sharjah under the umbrella of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
On the sidelines of its participation, SMD will meet and network with a group of experts specialised in Russia's tourism, travel, heritage, and museum affairs in order to exchange information and expertise.
SMD will also present various special offers and discounts to foreign tourism agencies and hotel chains that have contact with tourism companies in the UAE.
According to local statistics, there has been a sharp surge in the arrival of Russian tourists in Shajah. Sharjah achieved the highest percentage of Russian tourists in 2012, which saw a massive increase in the number of Russian arrivals with more than 304,000 tourists visiting the Emirate.
