Sharjah Transport delegation visits Dubai Taxi Drivers training center

A delegation from Sharjah Transport has recently paid a visit to the Drivers Training and Qualifying Center of the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to know more about the practices adopted by DTC in establishing the Center, work mechanism in place, and how cabdrivers are trained and qualified.
He praised them for making this visit, commended the cooperative spirit and partnership between various public entities in the UAE, and offered all forms of support and cooperation in the interest of both parties.
"This visit comes in the context of enhancing cooperation and sharing knowledge between various government departments and sectors in the UAE with the aim of adopting best-in-class practices, enriching the planning process, and emulating the successful experiences," said Othman.
He added, "The visit came in the aftermath of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the DTC and Sharjah Transport early this year, ushering a start of a sustained partnership and close cooperative relationships between the two parties in order to achieve their joint objectives."
"The Agreement will also enhance the potentials of improvement and the optimal utilization of the existing resources in a way that contributes to the advancement of passengers taxi transport sector as it has huge bearing on the economic, social and service aspects of both parties," he continued.
"This Agreement is a testament to the partnership with any public or private entity with the aim of furthering the knowledge transfer and checking the best practices in the UAE with the aim of uplifting the performance and the caliber of service offering to bring it at par with the highest international standards in a way that depicts the urban advancement seen by the UAE at all level," added Othman.
During the meeting a brief account was made about the DTC along with its key achievements made. Discussions also touched on how the Center was established along with an explanation of the work process and types of services provided to cabdrivers of the DTC and franchise companies.
The briefing focused on the latest technologies used in the Center and efforts made to upgrade the training modules to meet the needs of the local market, and attain professional recognition at the local and international levels.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation made a field visit to the Center to have a look at the training halls and the smart e-learning programme introduced.
