  • PRESS RELEASE

Sharp Middle East FZE, part of Sharp Corporation, will offer consumers a sneak peak at the world's largest commercially available LED TV, the 90" AQUOS LED during the 2013 Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper (ADES 2013), which is taking place in Abu Dhabi from the 14th to the 18th of March.

The company's flagship product weighs a mere 64 kg, roughly measuring 2 m in width, and 1.2 m in height with a diagonal screen size of more than 2.2 m (90 inches).

As the innovator of LCD technology, which is the basis of modern day LCD and LED TVs, Sharp's unique proposition is leading the demand in the region in the large-screen TV segment of 60" and above.

"What differentiates us from our competition is our lead and superiority in LCD technology and our brand values, which help us offer consumers state-of-the-art products at astonishingly pocket-friendly price levels," said Manu Mahdi, DGM Sales & Marketing at Sharp's Consumer Electronics Division.

"We are extremely pleased to offer our customers in the UAE a sneak peak at our much anticipated 90" AQUOS LED TV at ADES. The Middle East continues to be one of the key markets in the large-screen TV segment for our company - largely due to the healthy volumes of demand that we are seeing, especially in markets such as Abu Dhabi in the UAE," Mahdi continued.

ADEShopper 2013 is expected to attract more than 75,000 visitors from all consumer segments and will serve as the ideal platform for the biggest names in the electronics retail sector to showcase their products.

"We are proud to be a part of Abu Dhabi's exciting initiative and we are looking forward to the start of a successful annual gathering of the region's leading ICT retailers and suppliers right here," Mahdi said.

The 90"AQUOS LED TV, with its X-Gen Panel Technology, will be made available to the regional market during Q2 2013 and will feature a number of differentiating characteristics, including:

The X (10th) Generation Panel: It has a wider aperture ratio which allows easy light transmission through the panel. The result is a superb image contrast quality, at much lower power consumption.

UV2A Technology: We use a method in which UV light controls liquid crystal molecules to ensure uniform alignment. The result is a high precision picture and a deep black & fantastic white at Pico meter level.
