Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassim inaugurates Tim Hortons at Al Majaz Waterfront

Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi formally opened Tim Hortons seventh cafe and bake shop in the Al Majaz Waterfront last evening, December 6th, 2011. In the presence of Apparel Group Chairman and CEO, Nilesh Ved, and Shurooq CEO, Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, HE Sheikh Sultan poured the first cup of freshly brewed coffee to signify the opening.
Nilesh Ved, Chairman and Founder of the Apparel Group, holders of the Tim Hortons Master Licence Agreement confirmed that as a family-oriented leisure area of the Emirate, Al Majaz has a vibrant community all its own and attracts thousands of visitors every week.
"Sharjah is deemed to be the cultural hub of UAE and to be able to integrate Tim Hortons with that landscape has provided us with an opportunity to connect with our customers on a cultural level. With Al Majaz as our primary location, we hope to fulfil our promise 'Always Brewing. Always Baking' coupled with the location's serenity and artistic educational aspect," he continued.
The occasion was marked with presence of the Pink Caravan team, the courage initiative which was launched from Sharjah and proceeded to all the other emirates.
Tim Hortons which is known for being socially responsible was in turn supporting the Pink Caravan Campaign as it is one of a kind in the region.
Tim Hortons currently has seven restaurants in the UAE, four in Dubai at Sheikh Zayed Road, Deira City Centre, Dubai Outlet Mall and Jumeirah Beach residence, along with one in Mushrif Mall Abu Dhabi and one in Fujairah City Center, and the newest one in Al Majaz waterfront.
