Shell's carbonate rock study expected to yield benefits

Shell has said research carried in partnership with Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) to study the storage of the greenhouse gas CO2 in carbonate rock formations, will deliver "real benefits" for the oil and gas industry, Gulf Times has reported. The research "will deliver real benefits for the oil and gas industry as well as making a valuable contribution to progressing carbon capture and storage (CCS), which will be needed to address climate change," said Shell chief executive officer Peter Voser.
