Sidra Medical and Research Center appoints Chief Human Resources Officer

Experienced human resources director Ashley Soupen has joined Sidra Medical and Research Center in the role of Chief Human Resources Officer.

In this capacity, Mr. Soupen will take full responsibility for driving organizational and people strategy and will lead the strategic human resource planning and execution necessary for Sidra to attract and retain the highest caliber of staff. Mr. Soupen will report directly to Sidra's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. William F. Owen, Jr., MD, FACP.

Mr. Soupen has extensive experience of managing human resources (HR) at a senior level in a range of geographical settings, including the Middle East, Africa and Europe. He previously held the position of Human Resources Director, Emerging Markets at Honeywell International Inc., a leading global technology and manufacturing company. Prior to this he held roles with Honeywell in Europe and Africa. Before he joined Honeywell, Mr. Soupen held positions of increasing seniority within African Oxygen Limited (AFROX), a market leading manufacturer and distributor of welding products.

Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Owen said, "We have an ambitious vision for Sidra as a force for addressing inequalities in health and transforming the care of women and children in Qatar, the region and beyond. The people who join the Sidra team will be absolutely critical to our ability to achieve that vision. Sidra is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and is currently recruiting staff for a range of positions and is seeking passionate and talented physicians, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, researchers and information management professionals as well as administrators, managers and support staff. The first wave of physician interviews has already taken place and applications for hundreds of positions are being processed.
