  • PRESS RELEASE

SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, has strengthened its Cool Chain Premium Service with the appointment of an additional cool chain solutions provider.

SkyCargo has contracted CSafe, a global provider of cool chain solutions, for the supply and service of mobile refrigeration units used for its Cool Chain Premium Service, which specialises in the transport of temperature-sensitive products, including pharmaceuticals. The contract will provide units for SkyCargo's important Dublin to Australia route, which operates through Dubai. Upon completion of a successful test period, SkyCargo will analyse additional lanes for opportunities to further expand the agreement.

"With the growth and size of SkyCargo, it's critical that we have the necessary capacity and flexibility to provide cool chain solutions for our customers that meet their specific needs," said Moaza Al Falahi, Vice President Cargo Business and Product Development, Emirates SkyCargo. "The seamless movement of important temperature-sensitive healthcare and pharmaceutical products from one point to another is one of the key strengths of SkyCargo."

Mark Mohr, CSafe's Director of Customer Support and Partner Management, added, "We look forward to being a true partner to SkyCargo by providing the highest levels of service and support that will add value to customers and both our businesses."

SkyCargo offers three Cool Chain solutions, namely Cool Chain Basic, Cool Chain Advanced and Cool Chain Premium, each of which is designed to meet the requirements and specific needs of customers for the shipment of temperature sensitive products from fruit and vegetables to healthcare products and pharmaceuticals.

In 2011 to 2012 financial year, SkyCargo carried more than 3700 tonnes of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and healthcare products through its Cool Chain Premium Service.
