Social Enterprise Week to shape future of social enterprise in MENA region
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, February 17 - 2013 at 10:40
- PRESS RELEASE
Social Enterprise Week (SEW 2013), a campaign organized for the first time in the MENA region to promote events and activities towards social entrepreneurship, announces a series of events to be held in different locations, from February 24th to March 2nd, primarily in Dubai.
Companies and organizations including Al Ahli Group, C3 - Consult and Coach for a Cause, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Meydan Group are putting together a full agenda during the week to discuss the future of social enterprise community, to explore innovative solutions to tackle environmental issues and to debate about the challenges and opportunities social entrepreneurs and policy makers have found to advise and inspire the audience.
In addition to the 'unusual' discussions, Social Enterprise Week will gather a diverse, high-caliber network of speakers of over 20 best-in-class entrepreneurs, business and social leaders including Dr.Amina AlRustamani, Group CEO, TECOM; Nima Abu Wardeh, Broadcast Journalist, BBC, Gundeep Singh, CEO, The Change Initiative, Sulaf Al Zu'bi, CEO, INJAZ UAE, entrepreneurs from Slices, Raw Coffee, Wild Guanabana and more key leaders from Averda, Wamda, Sougha Initiative, N_K_D Pizza, Al Ahli Group and CRB Dubai Chamber.
Whilst entrepreneurs change industries and sectors, social entrepreneurs are the active agents for a positive change in society, by creating products and services to serve the community and by improving systems and processes that will benefit society in the long-term.
In the region, enough are reasons to promote campaigns such as SEW2013 once there are young and educated people in MENA countries without jobs and pursuing a better future.
