SMC signs partnership agreement with France's airline catering giant, Servair

Sokook Mega Company (SMC), a leading Doha-based hospitality management corporation, has signed a partnership agreement with France's airline catering giant, Servair, to bring the firm's world-class services to Qatar.

A subsidiary of Air France, Servair is the first catering company in Europe and one of the largest in the world.

With 56 stopovers spanning five continents and a myriad of destinations, the firm also provides aircraft cabin cleaning and airport services as well as engineering solutions.

The partnership, which merges SMC's local and regional expertise with Servair's intercontinental reach, marks the hospitality organization's foray into the catering business on an unprecedented scale with gilt-edged services at the core.

Commemorating the event, Sheikh Nasser Bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman, SMC, addressed a large gathering of guests, comprising government officials, corporate and individual clients and associates, as well as representatives of the local and international media. In his remarks, he stated, "Sokook Mega Company - SMC - is proud to bring the distinguished and renowned Servair brand to Qatar, to complement an ever growing national hospitality infrastructure."

"SMC offers hospitality, food, and beverages services in partnership with some of the globe's most infamous names. Its portfolio includes hotels, concept restaurants, health centers, and ancillary services," he elaborated

"Introducing Servair to Qatar brings-in a notable name to the State's thriving investments in this flourishing market. It will expand Qatar's ability to satisfy diverse needs in catering, aircraft cabin and airport services as well as engineering and innovating solutions," Ms.Zain Al-Shaker, Member of the Board and Managing Director, SMC, explained.

Ms. Zain went on to added, "Servair Qatar also complements a number of important developments in the hospitality industry in Qatar and the extensive Doha events' calendar, crowned with the much-awaited FIFA World Cup in 2022," enumerated Ms. Al-Shaker.

She finally concluded, "We have every faith that Servair Qatar will present a significant contribution towards developing the Qatari hospitality groundwork, bringing a 'taste of the world' to Qatar's 2030 National Development vision, and accentuating the country's reputation for first class services and facilities catering to a cultured, diverse palette of preferences."

Servair Vice President, Denis Hasdenteufel, expressed in turn his happiness at this new venture which brings his reputed company to the Qatari market. He stated, "On behalf of Servair, I would like to thank SMC and its Chairman, His Excellency Sheikh Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, and Ms. Zain Al-Shaker, SMC's Board Member and Managing Director, for their trust and outreach."

He went on to add, "I have every faith that our venture will bear fruits to the benefit of both of our companies, as well as maximize both SMC and the State of Qatar's goals in the hospitality industry."

He further added, "We are particularly happy that Servair Qatar starts its operations at such fortuitous times, and will contribute to the state's national development strategy which promises to make Qatar a world travel and tourism hub."

Hasdenteufel went on to highlight the various advantages that his company brings to the growing hospitality market in Qatar. In this regard, he stated, "Servair Qatar, is set to deliver incomparable expertise built on the course of the past 42 years; comprising one-stop catering solutions within three specializations; in-flight, school, healthcare, along with banquets & events. The firm's expansion extends its network of over 10,000 employees to the Middle East for the first time, topping up its 180-client portfolio."

With its great tradition of excellent cuisine, Servair has created «Le Studio Culinaire Servair» (Servair's Culinary Studio) to broaden its product range and expertise, providing airlines passengers with a sense of creativity and pleasure.

Ms. Zain Al-Shaker followed by announcing a first agreement to support Servair Qatar's launch through the acquisition of the sole representative/agent status of German company Palux. She stated, "Palux is a renowned German brand that hosts state of the art food technology Palux CEO and Chairman, Ms. Al-Shaker explained that SMC has accordingly become the exclusive agent of Palux which will host a showroom inside the Kitchen of Servair Qatar."

In comment, Erhard, Ikas stated, "Palux is happy to start its operations in Qatar through SMC's excellent support and representation. Our CPU demo will hopefully showcase the importance of our advanced technology."
