Sony launches $27,000 Bravia TV in UAE

Sony Gulf has unveiled the Japanese company's first 4K LCD TV, the 84" machine that can display images four times the resolution of full HD standard, Emirates 24-7 has reported. The Bravia LCD television boasts a 4K (3840 x 2160) LCD panel, comprising 8.29 megapixels, and incorporates Sony's proprietary '4K X-Reality PRO' super-resolution high-picture quality engine. The technology allows a viewer to be seated as close as 1.5 metres from the screen, according to Hiroyasu Sugiyama, managing director of Sony Middle East and Africa. The TV is priced at Dhs99,999 ($27,223) and will be on sale at leading Jumbo outlets starting November 18.
