South Korea is seeking a partnership with the UAE to win the nearly $20bn deal for Turkey's second nuclear plant, Hurriyet Daily has reported. Last month, Turkish energy minister Taner Yıldız welcomed the UAE as a partner in the deal, if South Korea was involved in the bid for the planned second nuclear area of Sinop in the north of the country. The UAE will finance the deal, which will relieve South Korea from having to seek guarantees from the Turkish treasury, which the Turkish government strongly rejected, the report said.
