  • PRESS RELEASE

Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has won the account for Spanish fashion brand Mango in the UAE, following a competitive multi-agency pitch. Effective January 1, 2013, the assignment - which covers the UAE market - further expands SMG's Mango operations in the Middle East and strengthens the agency's regional position and fashion retail credentials.

"We are delighted to begin our collaboration with SMG in the UAE," said Guillermo Coromina, Global Advertising Director at Mango. "The agency is already a strategic partner for us in the Middle East; having obtained an account with Mango in 2011 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain as well as Egypt in 2012. SMG's core values of professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment are the driving forces of any successful business. In line with this, we firmly believe that our partnership with SMG - extending across four markets in the region - will strengthen our unique portfolio and help us to achieve stellar growth."

Today, Mango is recognized as an international fashion powerhouse and this win provides an unprecedented opportunity for SMG to grow with the brand globally.

Mark Hamilton, SMG's Regional Client Managing Director, added, "We are thrilled to have won the Mango account in the UAE and look forward to growing the scope of business beyond KSA, Bahrain and Egypt. Today, Mango is a renowned fashion brand and boasts over 2,000 stores in more than 100 countries, with sales exceeding EUR1.7bn worldwide. It is a true global fashion innovator and we are honored to be playing a critical role in spearheading the brand across the Middle East and North Africa."
