- PRESS RELEASE
STC completed all its technical and ground preparations for call traffic in the 'Mina' Hajj ritual site, as pilgrims congregate to spend 'Al Tarwiyah Day' before heading to 'Arafat'.
As part of STC's preparations to serve pilgrims, the company placed fixed and mobile stations that operate 24 hours a day and that are available within a few meters of the pilgrims, distributed over the Hajj ritual sites.
Tens of technicians are on standby as part of the emergency and ground support teams who are positioned in various geographical locations for quick mobilization and disposal when needed, to maintain smooth call traffic; in addition, the company provides "SAWA Visit" cards through many mobile outlets distributed in the Hajj ritual sites.
STC had boosted the international link circles in the national network this year, and provided technical solutions supported by fiber optic and high-speed 4G networks to the city's accomplished projects, such as the "Jamaraat Bridge", "Haramain High Speed Rail", and "Mina Towers" projects.
The company also expanded its Wi-Fi coverage in 'Mina' and raised its coverage reach by adding additional hotspots, enabling pilgrims to browse the Internet for free at many locations in the Hajj ritual sites during this Hajj season.
STC Wi-Fi service was made available for free to Jood customers, and is available to all other customers, including those with other service providers, through SAWA prepaid cards.
