STC maintained that millions of SMS and MMS were sent on 'Arafat Day'. The telecom accredits the increase in smooth, high quality call and Internet traffic in Makkah and Hajj ritual sites to the company's innovative technical solutions that it provided through spreading fiber optics and 3G and 4G networks. STC further recorded an increase in smartphone Internet usage and QuickNet usage in Hajj ritual sites.
Conversely, STC continues to serve pilgrims during 'Al-Tashreeq' days beginning from today, throughout which the company continues to provide high quality services, accompanying pilgrims on their Hajj journey from Mina, Makkah, and around the 'Jamaraat Bridge'.
It is worth mentioning that this Hajj season witnessed a visible increase in the number of mobile roaming customers, compared to the previous year, and a consequent increase in call and Internet traffic in Makkah, Madinah and Hajj ritual sites was reported, in comparison with last year.
