STC links more than 500,000 sites with FTTH network

STC has expanded its FTTH network to link more than 500,000 sites with the optical fibers network with a reach exceeding 5,500 Km covering the various regions of the Kingdom and continuing with its network expansion strategy that aims to connect and link all sectors, including homes and residential buildings, with the latest telecommunication technologies that fulfill customer demand.

Eng. Mazyad Al Harbi, Vice President for Home Service at STC, stated that the company provides optical fiber services with high speeds reaching 1000Mbps, ushering a new era in broadband and enabling customers to enjoy broadband services with the new "smart homes" concept which utilizes features offered by the broadband technology like high speed Internet, multi-play services, IPTV (Invision), VoD, entertainment features, calling features in Jood packages, interactive games and social media applications, and many others.

Eng. Al Harbi added that STC employed all its resources to provide FTTH services to more than 100,000 current customers, via highly-trained teams that carry out the free installation of optical fibers and who are able to overcome any technical impediments.

The FTTH service is a highly safe service, EMI-resistant and weatherproof. Customers may order the service by calling customer service at 907, or by visiting one of the many customer-care centers spread out across the Kingdom.
