- PRESS RELEASE
In line with STC's commitment to continuously develop its products and services, customers are now able to obtain the 'Google Maps with Navigation Beta' service. The service, available for the first time, can be acquired with any mobile phone that's equipped with an Android 4.0 OS or higher, such as the 'Ice Cream Sandwich' and 'Jelly Bean' OS.
Customers who have handsets equipped with the Android 4.0 OS or above, can obtain directions and automatic path shift by the service via the 'Offline Maps' feature, in addition to the 'Direction and Navigation' feature, local search and 'My Maps features', the latter feature saves frequently used searches by the customer.
This addition also comes as a continuation of the strategic partnership between STC and Google. STC previously added the famous Google search engine to aljawal.net.sa, thereby allowing STC customers to search directly from the search bar on the STC Jawwal Internet homepage.
Moreover, STC enabled customers to send SMS through Gmail to any STC number free of charge within STC's network. These continuous updates reflect STC's keenness to continuously develop services, committing itself to the company's policies that revolve around customer satisfaction, by fulfilling their needs and wants, and facilitating the use of mobile and internet services for customers.
