  • PRESS RELEASE

STC announced the introduction of Nano-SIM cards, for the first time in the Kingdom. Nano-SIM is the new generation of SIM cards and was approved by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute. The release is a continuation of a series of distinctive services that the company offers its customers.

The new Nano-SIM is 40% smaller than its predecessor, the Micro-SIM, and measures 12.3 mm wide, 8.8 mm high and 0.67 mm thick.

STC prepares to release the Nano-SIM card to its customers, before the arrival of new mobile phones that support it. Taking into consideration the increasing demand for broadband internet services, the company covers all the important cities and regions in the Kingdom with 3G networks to serve more than 23 million customers, in addition to launching the advanced 4G LTE network for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa.

It is worth mentioning that the international telecommunication producers of smart phones have adopted the use of Nano-SIM cards in their products that will be introduced to the local and international markets in the near future.
