The International Congress for Joint Reconstruction - Middle East (ICJR-ME), organised by Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, concluded last week having introduced the latest technologies in the field of orthopaedic surgery, total knee replacement, arthorplasty and many other state of the art technologies, products, and pharmaceuticals developed for the joint reconstruction industry.

ICJR-ME 2013 took place from 7-9 March 2013 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre and was inaugurated by HE Engineer Essa Al Haj Al Maidoor, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, UAE.

Freedom Knee is a complete primary knee replacement system developed collaboratively by leading orthopedic and biomedical design experts to provide multiple component size and proportion configurations that deliver high-flexion motion while conserving bone. The Stemmed Tibia is an additional component option to the Freedom Knee system that can be used during primary or revision knee surgery, according to patient needs. It offers surgeons a new option during surgery to provide additional stability for patients with limited bone stock or extensive bone deformities.

Maxx Medical Pte. Ltd. (Maxx Medical) participated at ICJR-ME last week to introduce to the Middle East region one of their latest products - the Stemmed Tibial Baseplate - which is used in the freedom knee process.

"Our goal is to bring the global medical community top-tier orthopedic solutions that provide new, highly-effective options for treating patients suffering from knee pain. Our design approach has always been focused on innovative size, fit and component compatibility configurations to promote high-flex motion while minimizing bone loss. We're proud to have been a part of ICJR-Middle East and for the opportunity to share the benefits of our Freedom Total Knee System with the Middle Eastern surgeon and medical professional community," said Ashesh Shah, CEO, Maxx Medical. "In fact, launching our new Freedom Knee Stemmed Tibial component during the conference allowed us to educate regional surgeons on how it opens up even more stabilizing options for both primary and revision knee replacement surgeries."

The 2nd edition of ICJR-ME hosted 35 companies who showcased their latest products and services from the industry including reconstruction and ultrasound systems, arthroscopy equipment and accessories, bandage and dressing instruments, bone cement, and mixing and delivery systems. Key Exhibitors included Maxx Medical, Boehringer Ingelheim, Zimmer, Merck Sharp & Dohme, and the American Hospital Dubai.
