Strategic issues facing tourism, hospitality and events education addressed at international forum held in Dubai

The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, one of the world's leading business hospitality management schools and a part of the global luxury hospitality management company, Jumeirah Group, successfully hosted the 6th International Panel of Experts (IPoE) Forum 2012 from 18‑20 November 2012.
A total of four key panel presentations, two workshops and a number of discussion groups addressed various issues within the industry in line with the forum theme, "Changing Times in Tourism and Hospitality Education".
Close to 80 attendees from 20 different countries and 5 continents were present throughout the three days as well as students from The Academy.
Professor Badr Aboul-Ela, Executive Director, Commission for Academic Accreditation, UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the IPoE is a rare occasion where accreditors, faculty and students have the opportunity to come together and interact with one another.
Participants also had the opportunity to experience true Arabian hospitality in various locations throughout Dubai, including a lavish dinner at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The Paddy Hat, a student managed restaurant with a South-East Asian concept, also served the guests a sumptuous dinner, showcasing the talents and skills of The Academy students with all proceedings going to charity.
Delegates are already looking ahead to 2013 where the 7th edition of the International Panel of Experts will be held in Sydney, Australia. Guy Bentley, Chairman of THE-ICE Board, shared his final appreciations by thanking The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, the staff and the students who have worked on this event.
