Summit on Global Agenda underlines UAE's thought leadership in hosting global events

The Summit on the Global Agenda, one of the world's largest brainstorming events aimed at shaping the global agenda for growth and development, to be held in Dubai from November 12 to 14, 2012, will put the spotlight on the UAE's thought leadership in successfully hosting influential international events.
Mr Al Mansoori said, "The UAE is proud to set the platform for fruitful dialogue that will drive global prosperity by hosting the Summit on the Global Agenda. The event serves as a unique opportunity for leaders and thinkers to benchmark key developmental issues against global realities. The Summit brings the brightest minds to our country, and will deliberate on critical issues that affect humanity today. Their discussions with our national talents and UAE experts will serve as the basis for creating the global developmental agenda."
Mr Al Qamzi added, "In addition to highlighting the progress that has been achieved by the UAE to a global audience, hosting the Summit in Dubai also presents us an opportunity to underline our focus on serving as a global hub for business and trade by connecting nations, people and ideas from across the world. Focused on sustainable development and growth, we will continue to leverage our global connectivity and emphasis on strengthening our knowledge economy to the participants at the Summit."
During the three-day Summit, more than 1,000 global leaders along with national talents and UAE experts from academia, business, government and society will engage in interactive workshops to set priorities to improve the state of the world and identify the latest trends, risks and innovative solutions to address the world's challenges. The outcomes of the Summit will be integrated into the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2013 in Davos-Klosters for further discussion and action.
Among the topics to be discussed at the Summit include education, humanitarian assistance, institution building, climate change, transportation, sustainable energy, healthcare, food security, water security, migration, poverty and social entrepreneurship, among others.
