Supreme Council of Energy organizes training workshop for young Emirati volunteers

As part of preparations to host the 2012 World Energy Forum, which will be held in Dubai between 22—24 October for the first time in Dubai, outside UN headquarters in New York and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the theme A Forum for World Leaders, the Supreme Council of Energy has organized a training workshop for young Emirati volunteers at the Dubai Park Hyatt in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai (SCE) and Vice Chairman of the WEF 2012 Higher Organizing Committee, HE Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of the Community Development Authority, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, President of the Services, Logistics and Facilities Committee, Khawla Al Mehairi, Vice Chairperson of the Marketing and Corporate Communications Committee for WEF, and General Coordinator of the WEF 2012 Higher Organizing Committee and more than 500 Emirati volunteers from all over the UAE who responded to a participation drive on social media.
"Your volunteering with us for the Forum is a valuable opportunity for you to gain experience and skills on a global level through direct contact and dealing with distinguished delegates attending the Forum. They are the leaders and heads of state and government and business leaders who represent different nationalities and cultures and traditions and a wide spectrum around the world. You will benefit greatly from this important experience," said Al Tayer, who also thanked Al Kamda and the team that helped in encouraging the volunteer's involvement.
Al Kamda also stressed the importance of volunteerism and putting in all the necessary efforts to make the World Energy Forum a success that reflects positively on the UAE's image.
Dr Al Akraf inducted the volunteers and introduced them to the various arrangements that are in place to host delegations. Dr. Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Etiquette and Protocol Specialist, talked the volunteers about upholding etiquette and protocol when dealing with a delegation.
