Taj Palace Dubai seeks to boost business from South Africa

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, October 21 - 2012 at 12:34
  • PRESS RELEASE

Returing from a roadshow to South Africa organised by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, the sales and marketing team at the Taj Palace Dubai is optimistic about consolidating and growing its market share from the country - currently making up 14% of the hotel visitor mix.

According to Director of Sales Marwa Mustafa, the property has already witnessed a five% growth in numbers from South Africa in 2012, and this is set to rise following the sales blitz.

Emirates has increased its flight schedule from 35 to 42 weekly, and passenger levels between the two destinations rose by nearly 40% in the first quarter of this year alone with a 20% rise in seat capacity on flights between Dubai and South Africa.

Ms Mustafa said, "The roadshow served to highlight the key attractions of Dubai where passengers can fly direct from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town and connect to more than 220 destinations worldwide - while enjoying the many offerings of Dubai during their transit stop."

"Centrally located in Deira, and just five minutes' drive from Dubai International Airport, the Taj Palace offers both five-star hotel and apartment accommodation, and this is proving a major attraction," according to Ms Mustafa.

"We are attracting both families and corporate from South Africa. While families appreciate the convenience of our luxury apartments, as well as our children's amenity programme, the corporate and MICE visitors are well served with world-class business facilities. A range of dining and recreation options including our award-winning spa, outstanding meeting spaces and business centre and super service make for a great experience," she stressed.

"The South African visitor is also looking for value, rather than a beach location, and we were delighted with the reception we had from our colleagues there, including wholesalers and agents who indicated traffic from the country would continue to rise during 2013," she added.

The Taj Palace Dubai is a vibrant five-star hotel located in the heart of Deira's commercial and business district. Within minutes from the hotel are Dubai's most popular touristic sites, shopping malls, leisure and entertainment facilities, dining outlets, the beach and creek park, as well as Dubai Metro station.
