Tamkeen supports 17 enterprises in Jewellery Arabia 2012

Tamkeen is pleased to announce its support to 17 enterprises in the gold and jewellery Sector to participate in Jewellery Arabia 2012 - the Middle East's largest exhibitions of its kind.
"Tarweej" is one of the many schemes offered under Tamkeen's Enterprise Development Support Programme as part of its objective of delivering accessible business support services. The scheme enables local businesses to participate in leading local, regional and international trade fairs and exhibitions.
The 21st edition of this mega-event has presented the opportunity to the participating enterprises to showcase their latest collections of fine jewellery, an art which has long been part of Bahrain's culture, as well as building new business relationships and investment opportunities.
Tamkeen's Private Sector Support Senior Manager, Mohammed Bucheery, commented on the announcement: "Jewellery Arabia constitutes a unique opportunity to local Bahraini institutions which allows them to showcase the local craftsmanship which stands out amongst other products. In line with our objective to provides support to enhance the productivity and growth of enterprises, we are proud to be involved in allowing these institutions to realise this opportunity."
Mr. Mohammed Hussain Mualim, Managing Director of Al Sarraj Jewellers, commented on his company's participation: "Jewellery Arabia Exhibition is a great opportunity for Bahraini jewellers like us to showcase our products alongside renowned international jewellers. We have been showcasing our pearl and diamond jewellery at this event for the past 18 years, and the growing participation of Bahraini jewellers shows how confident we are of our ability to compete in the international market. "
"The "Tarweej" programme is instrumental in encouraging jewellers to take part in this exhibition. I believe that Tamkeen's Enterprise Development Support Programme is indispensable for the growth of local enterprises in Bahrain, and we highly appreciate their customer-friendly application process," Mr. Mualim added.
"Tarweej" provides financial support to businesses in Bahrain to cover 80% of the cost of participation in leading local, regional, and international trade fairs and exhibitions. The cost of airfare, accommodation, and cargo is also covered for events held abroad. Tamkeen contributed just over BD62,000 to the participants in this year's exhibition.
Since the third phase of the Enterprise Development Support programme commenced in February 2012, around 500 business enterprises have benefited from the "Tarweej" scheme, with a total support contributed by Tamkeen reaching just over BD1.1m.
"Tarweej" is part of more than 100 programmes and initiatives that Tamkeen offers to enable the development of Bahrainis and businesses in the Kingdom. Together, these programmes have benefited 53,000 Bahrainis and enterprises in the private sector, and re-injected more than BD166m into the sector.
