Tamkeen supports participation of 57 Bahraini enterprises in Autumn Fair 2013

Held at the Bahrain International Exhibitions Center, the fair continues until 31 January.

The number of Tamkeen-supported entrepreneurs who display their products in the annual Autumn Fair has constantly increased since 2011.

While six enterprises were supported in 2011, the number doubled to 32 in 2012 and reached 57 this year.

Tarweej is a co-financing scheme designed to support enterprises and help them achieve sustainability by promoting their services and products through local and regional trade fairs and exhibitions.

Tamkeen's Private Sector Support Senior Manager, Mohammed Bucheery, commented, "The consumer products sector is one of the important sectors in Bahrain. Supporting the participation of Bahraini enterprises in this renowned event is, therefore, an essential part of our effort to develop the private sector in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030."

Since the launch of the third phase of the Enterprise Development Support programme in February 2012, around 580 enterprises have benefited from Tarweej scheme, with a total support value of more than BD2m.

All Bahraini entrepreneurs who meet the eligibility requirements for Tarweej scheme can sign up for participation in future local and international trade fairs. They should send their applications, along with all the required documents, to Tamkeen's Enterprise Development Support Agency 10 days before the opening of local fairs and 30 days before the opening of foreign fairs.

In addition to Tarweej, the Enterprise Development Support Programme encompasses the following schemes: Business Development Scheme (Istishara) to enable business owners to better run their business by making informed business decisions for enhanced productivity and long-term sustainability, Quality Management Scheme (Jawda) to enable business owners to implement world-class quality management systems to improve products and services offered, Technical Assistance Scheme (Techania) to enable business owners to invest in modern equipment to reduce operational costs and improve productivity, Marketing Assistance Scheme (Tasweeq) to enable business owners to create professional marketing and communication strategies to grow the business, and the Large Enterprises Scheme (LES) to enable large enterprises to acquire industrial machinery and technology.
