  • PRESS RELEASE

In the run up to the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), Caracal Light Ammunition (CLA), a Tawazun subsidiary, announced the creation of a new division dedicated to the production of pyrotechnic ammunition.

The new division, named Caracal Pyrotechnics (CPT), was formed to cater to the growing pyrotechnic and non-lethal ammunition demands of law enforcement and national security organizations. The new division has attracted two partners to support with knowledge and technology transfer- a UAE-based investor, MP3 International, and Germany-based New Safety Technology (NST).

CPT's non-lethal product range will include signal cartridges, screening smoke, 40mm diversionary projectiles, simulation, stun grenades and colored smoke. All products will be manufactured in the CLA factory which is located in Tawazun Industrial Park.

Mr. Mohammed Al Ghafli, General Manager of CLA, said: "The creation of this new division is yet another step in our developmental strategy and overall aim to diversify the range of our offerings. At CLA, we are keen to observe the trends in the marketplace, listen to the demands of our international clients and deliver world-class, UAE-made products."

He continued: "By partnering with the best-of-the-best in the market, we ensure that we continue to manufacture high-grade products and further build our UAE national capabilities."
Along with all other Tawazun members, Caracal Light Ammunition (CLA) will be part of the Tawazun pavilion at the IDEX 2013, which is taking place February 17-21 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
