Technical Manager at iGuzzini Middle East to give presentation at Light Insight Arabia Conference

iGuzzini is delighted to announce that Sergio Padula, Technical Manager and Lighting Expert at iGuzzini Middle East, will be among the high profile lighting designers who will participating at the 2 day Light Insight Arabia, which is running alongside the Light Middle East Exhibition from October 1-3.
The event will be also acting as a platform for buyers and professionals for mutual interaction and view exchanges on the latest trends with international experts and key players in the lighting sector.
Light Insight Arabia, will be gathering high profile speakers from the lighting cosmos and will be featuring crucial issues such as "Why we need a lighting designer?", "Lightening large scale projects - from big to beautiful" and more. A special focus will be given to the topic of Sustainability and how the technology developments and innovations currently affecting the lighting sector are offering unexpected opportunities in terms of both energy-saving and creativeness, providing designers and architects with new possibilities of mutual interaction between lighting and architecture.
The scheduled interactive seminars promise to engage the audience with case studies and insights from some of the industry's most influential and respected players, such as Martin Valentine, Ziad Fattouh and Dr. Riad Saraiji.
Sergio Padula, whose presentation is scheduled on Tuesday 2nd October from 13.30 to 14.00, will be addressing the sustainability as the main topic, covering the different issues related to the ecofriendly design; more specifically his intervention is intended to be centering on how sustainable strategies can be implemented in architectural lighting and design.
By highlighting the extent to which both architecture and design are being affected by the impressive technological revolution critically reshaping the lighting sector, his discourse will be subsequently exploring and analyzing several case histories aimed to show how far the sustainable design principles have been recently implemented and how they can actively and positively contribute to the general condition of our social environments.
Having chosen the sustainability as the main topic of his seminar is in line with iGuzzini's mission and vision, which is promoting and encouraging a culture of good quality where the issue of energy saving and the attention to the environmental requirements play a crucial role since the first campaigns promoted in the early 90's.
Since the company's inception, iGuzzini's high awareness of social issues has shaped its corporate identity and developed its research, carrying out an intense research program has led to fittings and lighting systems that use technology to contain the amount of energy to reduce pollution.
Having joined iGuzzini in the Middle East hub in 2008 as Technical Manager, Sergio Padula commenced his love affair with light during his time at Politecnico di Milano where he was mentored by Piero Castiglioni. After spending a final year studying at UQAM in Montreal, Padula graduated in Industrial design and immediately focused on his passion for light.
Travelling around the World has enabled him to work on scores of varied projects and his professional knowledge is only complemented by his charismatic approach to teaching, which has seen him as part of the design syllabus at the University of Rome La Sapienza, the University of Architecture of Florence, the China Central Art Academy Architecture School in Beijing and both Manipal and American Universities in Dubai.
Sergio Padula is a member of APIL, The Italian Lighting Professional Association and a fully trained Relux trainer with over 10 years' experience working as a Visual Designer and Product Manager.
