At a time when the healthcare sector in the GCC is expected to grow at an annual rate of 11% to $43.9bn by 2015, and the number of school students has increased by 40% over the past five years in Dubai alone, technology is playing a major role in facilitating this exponential growth, particularly in the UAE.

Mazik Global, a Microsoft Gold partner for the past 11 years, together with Microsoft has announced the launch of MazikCARE and MazikED, state of the art hospital management and higher education solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Built on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform, MazikCARE is a solution that encompasses both the provider and the consumer to help achieve their goals, from better patient care to a more effective financial system. The solution delivers key functionalities like patient management, medical billing, collaborative care and business intelligence in a simple and accessible format that allows for more efficient hospital management.

On the other hand, the company's MazikED solution, encompasses both the student and the educational body to better achieve goals; from better educational management to more effective financial practices. It helps universities, community colleges and education companies confront the challenges facing their industry by offering comprehensive student recruitment and management, and scalable tools for the student's career and the life of the educational institution. "At Microsoft we're committed to supporting the UAE's 2021 vision and the development of the healthcare and education sectors, which are key focus areas for the UAE. These new Dynamics solutions are just an example of how technology can impact the lives of everyone within the community positively," said Karim Talhouk, Microsoft Business Solutions Lead at Microsoft Gulf.

"Our partnership with Mazik Global spans more than a decade and the company's experts were integral in the development of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. We're certain that Microsoft technology will continue to support the growth of key sectors such as healthcare and education with the help of our valued partners," continued Talhouk.

"Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is a new generation of business applications for Enterprises. With more than 1,000 new features and enhancements across core enterprise resource planning (ERP) and industry capabilities, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 will help provide more business value faster, enable agility and insight in your organization, and help drive faster adoption, broader usage, and easier maintenance and upgrade through a continued emphasis on simplicity," said Talhouk.

Microsoft Dynamics AX is a complete ERP solution for enterprises that provides a purpose-built foundation across five industries, along with comprehensive, core ERP functionality for financial, human resources and operations management.

"Mazik Global has been capitalizing on its strong product development background, investing heavily in the development of state of the art Hospital Management (MazikCARE) and Higher Education (MazikED) solutions on Microsoft Dynamics AX over the past two years," said Sid Siddiqui, President of Mazik Global. "Both these verticals are monolithic solutions on the AX platform and were officially launched during Microsoft's World Partner Conference this year. We're confident that customers in the Middle East will be able to benefit from those solutions, particularly in light of the importance being placed on both the healthcare and education sectors and their expected growth over the coming few years," he continued.
